It was sold to Time Corporation in 1958 and later became “Gruen Industries.” Facing a decline in watch production, the company shifted focus to real estate. Gruen Industries declared bankruptcy in 1977 and sold the brand rights to “Dixi Mécanique SA.” In 2008, MZ Berger & Co. acquired the Gruen brand, producing watches unrelated to the original Gruen Watch Company.
